2010s - #4: Prior to 1993, the Super Bowl halftime show was a showcase for college marching bands, Up With People and gimmicks like Brian Boitano figure skating with Dorothy Hamill. That all changed in 1993, however, when the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, headlined half time at Super Bowl XXVII. Since then, some of the biggest names in rock have played the halftime show at the Super Bowl, including Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, U2, The Rolling Stones, and Prince, just to name a few. That roster of legends also included The Who, as captured in this TV audio broadcast, playing halftime at Super Bowl XLIV on February 7, 2010, 11 years ago today.
